A career spanning 35 years in the Hospitality Industry, Michael has always stood as a paragon of excellence in the realm of International Hotel Management. Renowned for his unparalleled expertise and wavering dedication, Michael has become a trailblazer in the art of Hospitality.

Having begun his journey in the industry at a young age, Michael quickly ascended the ranks starting at The Park Hyatt Canberra in 1989 as a Catering Manager looking after events including the Royal Visit of Queen Elizabeth 2 to Nelson Mandella. From there he moved to Frankfurt Germany working in the Global Sales office for Hyatt International. His career then took him to Riyadh in Saudia Arabia as Director of Sales and Marketing for Hyatt Regency Riyadh. He continued to grow with Hyatt as he returned back to Germany as Director of Rooms for the Hyatt Regency Cologne. This exciting role allowed him personal take care of a number of dignitaries and celebrities such as President Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, Joan Collins, Mariah Carey, Madelin Albright, Tom Hanks, Cindy Lauper and not to mention Lizza Minelli.

Michael returned back to Australia as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Park and Grand Hyatt Melbourne. His career then allowed him to move to Hong Kong as Hotel Manager of the Ritz Carlton Hong Kong.

In 2004 Michael joined The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group where he spent 14 years working as a General Manager for their hotels in Munich Germany, Macau, Hong Kong and Taipei.

In 2018 Michael joined the City of Dreams in Manila as Vice President of Hospitality responsible for Hyatt Regency, Nobu Hotel and Nuwa (formally Crown). His responsibilities also included 27 restaurants, luxury retail mall, Dream Play as well as having 3800 staff under his wing.

Throughout his career Michael has been instrumental in shaping the success of several prestigious hotels across the globe. Beyond his professional achievements Michael is highly regarded for his leadership qualities and commitment to fostering a positive work environment. He has mentored and inspired countless individuals within the industry, nurturing the next generation of Hospitality leaders.

Michael returned home to Mollymook in 2020 and set up Killara Hospitality Services Pty Ltd. The company consists of 2 cafes, Breakers and The Terrace as well as Killara Catering and Events located at the Ulladulla Civic Centre.

As an experienced industry leader Michael would like to dedicate his time in mentoring talent in the local area and already has been able to assist some of his team members to take on certification and traineeships in the hospitality industry.

Far from retiring Michael is looking forward to placing Killara Hospitality Services on the map here on the South Coast.
